Czech Global is operated by HalfCzech (@HalfCzech), based in Prague, Czech Republic. This site is accessible at halfczech.com. For questions, contact us at hello@halfczech.com.
When you submit your email to see your quiz score, we record your email address and score — this happens every time, whether or not you opt in to updates. We do not collect names, payment information, or any sensitive personal data through this site.
If you purchase a product through our Lemon Squeezy store, payment and billing data is handled directly by Lemon Squeezy and subject to their privacy policy.
Your email and score are recorded to run the quiz and, if you choose, to follow up with you. On the results screen you'll see a checkbox: "Yes, send me occasional updates from HalfCzech about Czech and Slovak culture, language and history — and from Vuyse, our project for recording family stories. I can unsubscribe anytime." Vuyse is a separate project built by the same person behind HalfCzech. Ticking the box is optional — you'll see your score either way. We only send marketing updates, including about Vuyse, to people who ticked that box.
When you submit, we also record a consent entry alongside your email: the exact wording of the checkbox as it appeared to you, whether it was ticked, and the date and time. This is our record of what you agreed to, so we don't have to guess later. You will never receive unrelated promotional content or have your data sold to third parties.
When you buy a product from our Lemon Squeezy store, Lemon Squeezy shares your name, email address and what you bought with us. We use this to send you emails about your purchase (for example how to use it, and free updated editions) and, occasionally, similar HalfCzech products we think you will like. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by clicking it or emailing hello@halfczech.com. We do not receive or store your payment details.
Submissions are stored via Formspree (formspree.io) and in a private Google Sheet. We do not store your personal data on our own servers. If you opted in, we send updates using Resend (resend.com). You can review Formspree's privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy, Google's at policies.google.com/privacy, and Resend's at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy. Vuyse (vuyse.com) is run by the same person as HalfCzech and does not receive or store this data separately — any updates about it are sent from HalfCzech's own list.
We keep your email, quiz score, and consent record for 24 months from your submission, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first.
If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to:
To withdraw consent, request deletion, or exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@halfczech.com.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time and your data will be removed from our mailing list within 7 days of your request.
